MULTILINGUALISM
The majority of the world population is bi- or multilingual.
The reasons for raising children bi- or multilingually are manifold, they include, amongst others,
Raising and/or teaching multilingual children, however, is a challenging task. As parents or teachers or people involved and interested in multilingual issues, you might like to get more information or share your experience and questions with others. For this purpose, I would like to provide an opportunity to get people together and offer my support on their multilingual path.
The reasons for raising children bi- or multilingually are manifold, they include, amongst others,
- the wish to pass on one’s own language(s), culture(s), values, customs and traditions,
- to foster awareness of and respect for different languages and cultures,
- to raise our children to become tolerant and open-minded people,
- to facilitate a multilingual and multicultural identity as well as
- to achieve flexibility and mobility in a globalised world.
